When traveling solo, especially at night, I always recommend using Uber instead of walking long distances, particularly in unfamiliar areas. It’s a convenient and safe way to get around, and it offers the comfort of knowing you’re in good hands. I felt much more secure when booking an Uber after late-night activities or when I needed to travel through unfamiliar neighborhoods.
Pub crawl
One of my first days in Valencia, I joined the Tour Me Out pub crawl, and I immediately met great, fun people—many of whom I still keep in touch with today! My biggest advice: step out of your comfort zone and join in! It might feel intimidating at first to experience something alone, but activities like these create a welcoming atmosphere where friendships naturally form. The pub crawl was my first step toward making connections and enjoying great company. Everyone was in a good mood, and we all had the same goal: to have an amazing night with new people!
Free walking tour
A few days after the pub crawl, I joined the free walking tour from the same
organization, Tour Me Out!. This was a fantastic opportunity to enjoy a free, fun activity while meeting fellow travelers. The tour started with an introduction from the guide and a short round of introductions from the group. Right away, I knew who I was walking with and where everyone was from. This made it easy to find common ground, leading to interesting conversations and new friendships. Plus, I got to discover the city and its fascinating history while being surrounded by new people.
All in all, I’m incredibly grateful to Tour Me Out for an unforgettable night, an insightful walking tour, and most importantly, for the new friendships I made along the way!
