Albufera Experience for Groups | 5 Hours Duration | Valencia

Discover one of the most authentic landscapes near Valencia on a bike and boat tour created for groups. Starting in central Valencia, you will cycle through the Turia Gardens and past the City of Arts and Sciences before following the coast towards Pinedo, El Saler and the rice-growing landscapes of the Albufera.

Another option, if you don’t want to ride a bike or if your group is very large, is to take the bus. If we take a shuttle from Valencia, then once we arrive, we’ll go on a 1-hour hike to explore the wonderful natural landscape before heading out for lunch.

Once you reach the lagoon, your group will leave the bikes behind for a traditional one-hour boat ride. A professional guide accompanies the route from the bike shop to the natural park and back, making it an active and memorable way to experience Valencia beyond the usual city sights.

Your group starts in Valencia city centre and follows a scenic route south towards the Albufera Natural Park. Along the way, the itinerary combines urban landmarks, gardens, Mediterranean coastline and traditional villages before arriving at the lagoon.

The route by bike normally includes:

  • Take your bike near Plaza Tetuán in Valencia city center.
  • Turia Gardens and Palau de la Música.
  • City of Arts and Sciences and modern Valencia architecture.
  • Pinedo Beach and the Mediterranean coast.
  • El Saler, a village connected to Valencia’s rice-growing traditions.
  • Embarcadero Pomero and a guided boat trip across the Albufera lagoon.

FAQ's About Our Albufera Experience for Valencia

The complete bike and boat experience lasts approximately 5 hours, including the ride from Valencia, the lagoon visit and the return journey.

If we do the experience by shuttle is approximately 3 hours in total.

Normally the meeting point is Plaza Tetuán, 5, outside Purple Nest Hostel in Valencia city centre. But we can adapt to your group depending where’s your accommodation.

The activity starts at 9:30 am. Your group should arrive a little early so the bikes can be organised before departure.

Especially in the summer, it’s important to head out early to avoid the heat, particularly if we’re going to ride a bike.

By bike, we normally do groups of 15 to 20 people per guide. If your group is bigger than 20 people, don’t worry, we’ll split group and go ahead.

Going by shuttle there’s no minimum of people, we can do groups of 60 or 80 people. 

The experience includes standard bike rental, a professional guide for the full route and a one-hour guided boat ride through the Albufera Natural Park.

Transportation by shuttle or lunch in L’albufera. 

The route has a medium difficulty level and lasts more than 5 hours round-trip. Participants should be in good physical condition and comfortable cycling. It is not recommended for people with heart conditions or limited cycling ability.

If you’re not used to riding a bike, we recommend taking the shuttle or renting electric bikes.

No. An optional lunch is available near the lagoon, but food is not included in the activity price. Restaurants are around 25€ to 35€ per person and we normally recommend eat a Valencian Paella. 

Bring water, sunscreen and a jacket, and wear comfortable clothing and footwear suitable for several hours of cycling.

For better organization for your group, booking earlier is recommended to secure your preferred date and enough bikes.
